Turmeric powder
Originating in India, Turmeric has been a part of the Ayurvedic diet and medicine for thousands of years. Turmeric powder produced from the root of the Curcuma longa species of turmeric grows particularly well in northeast Madagascar.
In Madagascar, turmeric is widely used the local cuisine where it's added to rice dishes. The powder itself is commonly referred to simply as curry.
Turmeric powder can be used in food production, tea products and other healthy drinks, as medicinal supplements, in cosmetics or simply packaged and resold as the wholesome gourmet spice it is.
